Sharing His Story: Power of theater explored in personal memoir

There is no age limit on writing a book. Longtime creative Bob Calderon proves this.
At 77 years old, Calderon has put his story to ink in “What You See In Me,” a manuscript that follows the author through a decade of his life as a closeted young gay man living on Long Island, New York. Written in various forms of prose, the story showcases Calderon’s search for himself as well as the healing powers of therapy.
“You are able to live and experience other lives through theater, and then maybe learn something about yourself,” Calderon, now an LA resident, said. “That’s why I think the theater works, especially if you pick specific things that are connected to what you want the child to relate to or learn about.”
